- Search a good as well as cheap priced removalist company in your local area. Take referrals from friends, family and co-workers
- Before hiring a removal service, check out its registration no. and experience. Also make sure that the company provides insurance coverage to your precious belongings.
- Make a list of all the persons you will need to inform about your changed address.
- Don’t pack those clothes and stuffs which you no longer need. Either donate these things or sell online.
- Vacate your fridge in advance and defrost it at least one day earlier your move.
- Pay all your bills like electricity, milk, newspaper in advance and inform them about your move.
- Label your box with room specification and items it is carrying. You may also use colour coding to make things easier.
- Research schools, hospitals and super markets in the new area prior your move.
- It is advisable to take pictures of your cleaned up old home which may prove useful in future if any problem arises with your landlord in getting your deposit back
- Make use of all the boxes, suitcase, baskets and laundry bins for packing and reduce the number of packing boxes in your move.
- Take pictures of the complex electronic connection before unplugging and packing it. These photos will help you in easily connecting the wires at your new home.
